eCommerce and RSS/News Blogs

Here’s an interesting addition that’s now available as an add-on to SiteBuildIt websites. Honor Hart who’s a certified SBI WebMaster has just recently released a toolset, tutorials and manuals for adding a blog and RSS feeds to SiteBuildIt websites.

There should now be several products available for SBI owners, though so far, this looks like the most comprehensive solution. SBI itself hasn’t yet added blog/RSS functionality directly to their website building package, but they are in the process of evaluating best practices and testing. If you follow what they’re up to, you’ll know that they have a number of feeds available now. For more information check out the SBI reference page here and go take a look at what they’re up. If you’re still trying to decide how to implement your web presence - or if you’re looking to construct a new eCommerce site, SiteBuildIt gets results that others only dream about. And I’m an affiliate, of course, so as soon as a few of you go ahead and do the right thing, I’m going to get another site or two - at SBI. End of blatant plug.

It’s a very nice comprehensive package that Honor is offering. Won’t do you much good if you don’t have an SBI site, but it’s worth looking at to see the kind of value that she offers - at a very reasonable price. You’d have some serious difficulty finding anything similar elsewhere. Here’s the link so you can take a look:

SBI RSS/News Blog

These days, it’s looking very much like you’re missing a bet if you don’t have a blog and RSS feeds assciated with your eCommerce site. You notice - this is a blog. There’s a good reason for it. Search engines like blogs. Why? Search engines like new content and usually, blogs are about content. Frequently updated content. Also blogs tend to be very well structured, making them easy for search engine bots to read. People often forget some of the essentials when they set up sites (see one of my earlier posts about how I forgot to link in my article directory - duh).

Plus blogs and RSS feeds open up a whole new world of promotion possibilities. If you’re interested you can get the seminal book on Marketing Success with RSS here:

Using a blog as an eCommerce site

This is a fascinating example of just how very clever Allen Says is at marketing and building programs that pay off for everyone. His approach is genius and the beauty of it is that everyone can gain.

Basically he has a blog set up to promote all sorts of his and other folks products. He writes all the copy, finds the products, maintains everything and the folks who affiliate and send traffic get commissions on each sale.

By itself that’s pretty slick. But here’s the huge twist. He’s added a five tier affiliate matrix with payments through all five tiers. This has always been one of the complaints about Clickbank. It’s also a common complaint about other single or two tier affiliate programs.

There are two things you can do here. One is to study what he’s done and learn. See how you can apply the same or similar techniques to your site. The other is to go ahead and join up and start building another income stream. Allen’s articles are always interesting and he’s planning to have offerings that will appeal to other than the internet marketing niche.

If you’re ready now - go here:

Most smaller web business are always on the lookout for additional ways to monetize. It looks to me like this is a low effort added revenue stream that could, over time, produce a substantial income for any website or blog.

Along with using it as an added stream, I’d really encourage you to read his articles and books (if you haven’t yet). He’s a very strong presence in the marketing community and has helped many many people make seriously large amounts of money. His approach is different and the way he uses his mind is worth learning, studying and applying to your own business.

Some of his ideas may sound a little strange to some of you, but they work. And you can learn how to use the techniques he talks about. At the very least, take a good hard look at this blog and read his material:

Allen’s Instant Guru Blog

Everything you learn, every idea or new thought can help you build a successful business. Always check what the major marketers are doing and study how they operate. What you learn that way can turn a so-so site into a winner.
