eCommerce news

A while back, actually around the beginning of the month, I added a daily news and updates page to the site. There’s another one here too, but it’s a daily xml feed and isn’t archived. The new one uses different feed sources and the page is archived when the daily update is done. What I finally realized was that it was a little awkward to actually find the page since the only link was from the sitemap. So today I added a link on the site’s main page. I suppose I better add a link here too. You can take a look here at News Updates.

It’s been a busy month and neither Dan nor I have had a lot of time to do any posts. I haven’t posted much here at all, though I have posted more than it looks like. I always forget to login as myself and usually come in as admin which is really Dan’s login. Anyway, I’ve been doing some writing and publishing this month which has absorbed a lot of time. The “A Successful eCommerce Websites” series still isn’t done (3 out of four), but the first two have already been rewritten to be published. You’ll find them listed now in the articles directory as Building eCommerce Websites That Work - Part 1 and Part 2.

I’m already pretty well convinced that the old marketing adage about building traffic through article writing is absolutely true. I know a lot of people feel they just can’t write articles, but the truth is that anyone who can tell a friend a story, describe how they put an interesting feature on their site, talk - knowledgeably - about nearly anything at all, can write interesting articles. Never downplay your own knowledge. There are others who know less or who have never seen things just the way you do. People come on the internet looking for information. Provide good information and people will come (OK, you do need to distribute it to article directories, ezines and so on). Plus you are building your site - with your articles - with no offsite links. You’ve heard all this what, a hundred times? But are you publishing?
