On AdSense
|
Just realized an entire month disappeared between my last post and this one. It wasn’t that I was ignoring the site. In fact I wrote two new articles. Both are on AdSense which is, it seems, always a hot topic. Article one has some basic keys to doing well overall with AdSense: Article two decribes the optimization tips that Google itself offers (plus a little extra they don’t mention): AdSense, of course, is a valuable added monetization technique for many sites. Is it eCommerce? Certainly, there seem to be a lot of people who see it as a stand-alone money-maker. And as the basis for info-products and software, AdSense has generated a substantial niche marketing area. For people who would like to create an informational site about their area of interest, but aren’t all that interested in trying to create products, build opt-in lists and so on, advertising, and possibly affiliate marketing, may be the only way they can defray their costs and possibly even make a little extra money. My interest here is in how eCommerce sites are done - and done well. How people monetize what they do and what are the best ways to do that. So I write about what interests me in the area. Strictly speaking, AdSense is not a business. It’s an adjunct - something you add on to a site which exists for other reasons. I can hear that thought - but all this stuff is out about how you can make a fortune by building AdSense sites. Sure you can. But it’s an arduous and iffy undertaking, beset by ups and downs and the need to continuously build new sites as old sites fail or disappear from the search engines. Understand that it isn’t something you can necessarily count on. And some of the skills you need are not easy to learn or to use. Dealing with constant change and the continual need for new and better tools isn’t something that appeals to most. So keep the old adage in mind - if it sounds too good to be true, then . . . Unsurprisingly, this site is largely supported by AdSense. Basically it’s an informational site and an opportunity for me to do research and write about what interests me - and hopefully provide useful information for visitors. I also have an affiliation with SiteSell and a couple other little things. About SiteSell, all I can say is that if you’re going to have a business and don’t have the desire to become expert in a number of fairly arcane skills, if you want to just focus on building your business, then you’d be foolish not to do it with SiteBuildIt! They have the tools and the knowledge, they are committed to doing the absolute best they can for their users, they have a terrific user community and they have proof - real hard proof - that it works. Why go somewhere that can’t prove they produce winners? Perhaps next post, I’ll return to the article experiment and see how the articles I’ve published so far are doing in the Search Engines. Marketing with articles seems to be the latest big craze in the internet marketing community and is continuing to generate new products, ebooks, courses and whatever. |
