More on article content

I liked the last post about “Where’s your content?” so much that I turned it into an article and sent it off. However, the version you can read here on the site is about half again as long as the version I submitted for distribution - so you might want to read the version here.

Now the article itself doesn’t have any links to my prime source of third-party private label articles. You can only get that here.

I’ve looked at a lot of stuff and bought way too many things - probably just like you have. Out of all of those things, I’ve found most of them to be at least a little disapointing. Maybe my standards are a little too high, but there’s a lot of junk out there and there’s a lot that’s really good but might be of limited value if you aren’t a full-fledged direct marketer.

Much of what I do requires a lot of content - content is the most important single factor I’ve been able to identify. Not just because it makes your site unique, but mostly because it’s what your visitors are looking for. Let’s face it, the single most important success factor is keeping your visitors happy and bringing them back for more.

I’m really pleased with the quality of articles I’ve been getting from Content Attack. I’ve known Sandra for a while and always been impressed by her helpfulness and the quality of what she does. And she overdelivers which is always a very nice thing.

There are a lot of sites that provide a variety of private label content, but most of them are fairly large sites with a lot of members. Content Attack is capped at only 150 members. Now most of these people are serious about what they’re doing and will actually use the articles, but given the size of the internet that really doesn’t make a lot of difference.

As of earlier today there were still about 32 memberships available. Again, this isn’t worth it if you’re going to just join and do nothing, You need to USE what you’ll receive. And what you’ll also find is that Sandra often includes extra articles above and beyond the 75 per week. Plus she offers other items that you’re sure to find valuable.

I don’t want to keep on about this - if you’re serious, you’ll recognize the value in this, and in any case these memberships aren’t going to be around very long. You can take a look for yourself here:

Once again, this doesn’t eliminate the need for other content, but it can be a huge help and a huge time-saver, as well as a source of inspiration. Maybe that part isn’t really clear. Sometimes you need to write an article and your mind is blank. What I’ve found is that some of these articles are an excellent foundation for creating new and unique articles of your own. Plus the fact that these are niche articles will also open your mind to niches that you might never have thought of without these articles. It’s very hard to put a reasonable value on inspiration and new ideas. If you’re serious about your online success, at the very least take a look. Content is always both a necessity and a problem, so all the positive alternatives you can incorporate should be a part of building your successful online business.

Where’s the content?

Content continues to be one of the single most important factors to having a successful site. And it’s also one of the most difficult. Scraping sites and stealing their content is a really bad idea. Relying exclusively on RSS feeds and news sources isn’t a whole lot better but at least, if you make sure about the feeds’ TOS and follow them, it isn’t theft.

Third party articles are a reasonable source - authors want to be published. You still need to make your pages as unique as possible however.

Writing your own articles and putting them on your sites and publishing them is the ideal way to go, but everybody faces time issues. Research takes time. Writing, editing and proofing take time. Submitting takes time. Many feel they don’t have the skills to write decent articles. However, if you can talk reasonably well, then you can write articles. It just takes practice and learning to believe in your own capabilities. Still it isn’t easy.

Public domain materials provide another possibility. You need to make sure they really are in the public domain and it may involve scanning, editing and proofing, breaking the materials into usable lengths and creating the appropriate pages and articles. This can be an excellent, if often time intensive alternative or supplement to other content sources.

Membership sites such as Nicheology and PushbuttonHealth also provide usable content either to sell or to use as site content. Many of these sites have a LOT of members.

Ghost writers are used by many marketers both to create products and for articles and other website content. This can get expensive pretty quickly with per article costs running from 2 to US $5, depending on quantity and quality.

There are some sites now that offer ghost written articles on a monthly basis. This can be an exceptionally good option depending on the number and quality of the articles, the monthly fees and the number of members. ContentAttack is a new service which is capped at 150 members (yes, folks that’s one hundred fifty, not 1500). This is an exceptional deal with high quality targeted articles - a minimum of 75 per week (300 articles per month in a variety of niches). I’ve been a member since just before it opened and it works for me. Right now (and I mean RIGHT NOW as I write) there are 37 or fewer memberships available. If you have any interest at all in this kind of service, any need for ongoing content in a variety of niches, I suggest you check it out immediately and join while you have a chance. The limited membership is one feature I really appreciate. And an interesting side effect of receiving niched articles weekly is that you may well discover some great new opportunities that you might never have thought of - or done anything about - without having gotten basic niche content. I suspect these memberships may be gone in a day or so - take a look for yourself here:
