There Is a World Outside of Google’s AdSense

Google’s AdSense program is by far the most popular of all the contextual ad programs out there, but it’s certainly not the only one. There are many Pay Per Click Networks similar to AdSense that are available to website publishers who are looking to monetize their website traffic.

Why would you use anything other than AdSense if it’s the most popular ? Well there are several reasons why you might want to try another network. Perhaps you had an AdSense account in the past and fell victim to one of their mysterious “invalid clicks” bannings, or you may want to diversify a bit. As my mother used to tell me, never put all your eggs in one basket.

Yahoo Publishers Network - http://www.publisher.yahoo.com - This is probably Google’s biggest competitor. They offer contextual based text ads only. YPN is still in it’s beta mode however and it’s very difficult to get accepted into their program currently. At the time of this writing the YPN program is only open to residents of the US and they’re still working on their ad targeting, it’s not very accurate at times but this should be a very promising program once the work out the bugs.

Bidvertiser - http://www.bidvertiser.com - Another fairly well known name in the PPC game. Bidvertiser offers an easy sign up process, low payout threshold and quick ad setup. Their ads are not contextual in nature, but based on categories. If your website falls into the “shopping” category, you’ll display ads related to shopping and the like. They offer category based text ads in various sizes.

Kirrhi PPC Network - http://www.kirrhi.com - A relative newcomer to the PPC field, but holds a promising future for a variety of reasons. Quick and easy registration, lucrative referral bonuses, nice selection of ad types, and a low payout threshold. Kirrhi offers contextual text ads in a variety of sizes, inline text ads, and personalized search portals.

Adbrite - http://www.adbrite.com - This one is a bit different in so much as advertisers can choose which publisher’s site their ads are displayed on, and publishers can also refuse or accept those ads. This gives both advertiser and publisher greater control over the types of ads shown on their site. A very nice feature if you ask me. Sign up is fast and painless, ad types consiste of contextual text ads, inline text links, and interstitials. Low payout threshold also makes this an attractive choice.

Kontera - http://www.kontera.com - This program takes advantage of the inline text ads. Simple to integrate and it’s a setup and forget about it kind of system. Very easy to use and register. Net 60 payout terms and $100.00 payout threshold may make this one a bit undesirable for some publishers.

Alternate URL - http://www.alternateurl.com - What started out as a means to fill up those PSA ads with AdSense has morphed into a very nice PPC Network in it’s own right. Registration must be approved and takes about 48 hours, but it’s well worth the wait. Alternate URL uses context based text ads only, but it’s definitely a very nice program with great earning potential.

As you can see there are many alternatives to AdSense now, you’re not restricted to just one PPC Network while trying to monetize your website’s traffic. Our list is by no means a complete list, but it should be enough to get you started on the road to life outside AdSense.

If You Had To Choose. Get A Decision Or Create A Relation With Your Prospects?

Of course, in the best of worlds you get the decision first and through this action you build a much faster relation to your prospect.

There is one tool or strategy that has only this target in mind. You probably have heard of or seen one. You might have bought from one. You even might have thought of making one yourself. There must be a reason why you are constantly stumbling over these mini-sites.

What makes the mini-site used by so many internet marketers?

A mini-mite is a website based preferably with 1-4 pages. And they are not there to create a relation to you as a prospect or customer. They are only (or should be) made to get a decision from you. Buy or not buy. A very targeted marketing tool you might say.

A powerful way of a mini-site structure could be made as follow and have made, some marketers, alot of money:

#1 Your logo (plus some additional photo that catches the prospects attention and sets them in the right mood) and preferable a clear navigation with your links horizontally below. It makes it easier to view the content of your offer, witch makes your prospect less stressed.

#2 The headline with a powerful benefit. Always benefit before feature.

#3 The testimonial - If you don’t have any testimonials yet, email some of your customers or send the product to a few of your prospects for free in exchange for their testimonial. You got to have your credentials.

#4 Give your customer a small introduction to the subject and tell them about problems in this area and build up on the frustration they feel because of them.

#5 Introduce your product. If it is an informational one, it is very important to give it a psychological appearance.

#6 Now you give your prospect all the benefits with your product. How will it solve their problems. Create desire!

#7 Create an irresistible offer and call to action. Bonuses - benefit - deadline.

#8 Give your prospect a guarantee. The longer and deeper guarantee, the more sale. But be sure you are able to match it.

#9 Finaly give them the #1 benefit and ask for the order. If you don’t ask for it, they probably won’t do it. Make it as easy as possible for them to order.

This is one proven way. But as an internet marketer you always have to test it continuously adapted to your specific market.

If you are using it to sell an affiliate’s product you should always head for the subcription before you give the affiliate link away. Otherwise you might loose the most important asset - subcriber to your newsletter. Be creative!

Jim Edwards has stated as follow:
- I wasn’t making any money, but once I learned how to set up two, three, four-page Mini-Sites, that’s when the money really started coming in, and my online business went from being just a money hobby to a serious, fulltime income.

I wish you got enough stuff to take the leap and begin to build your own mini-site profits. This could be your most important online business decision of your life.
